about
Victor Pachas is engaged in performances around the world with his Flamenco-fusion style, from the El Toro in Singapore to the Jade in Granada, Spain. He has toured in Boulder, Kansas City, Boston, and New York, and throughout Europe, including Paris, Spain, and Portugal. Currently based in New York City, Victor is in demand for his fusion of Flamenco with other contemporary styles. Growing up with his Peruvian and Ecuadorian family, his South American roots follow him in his musical adventures, and influence his compositions and arrangements.
As a versatile musician, Victor has collaborated with musicians of many genres and disciplines, from soul/pop singer Bashirrah Creswell (as Nala in the Broadyway musical The Lion King), folk singer Erica Buettner to contemporary saxophonist Dennis Shafer with his Soundpainting Ensemble or performance poet Diana Norma. Victor’s passion is solo performance, which features his “one man band” act, playing the guitar as a drum set, singing, and accompanying himself with live electronics. As a contemporary artist, he is influenced by Sade, Marvin Gaye, the Police, Van Halen, Santana, and many others, and can imitate them in his own unique style as an acoustic artist.
Victor is a member of the bands A Thousand Ships (Boston), Just (Granada, Spain), Tapis Volant (Paris, France), and many other groups world-wide. He has studied in Granada with Jorge el “Pisao” and Emilio Maya, and with Andrea Serritas in Paris.
